Purdey Fragrance

Does anyone know anything about the French 'Purdey Fragrance' from 1976/77. Promoted as 'Purdey Fragrance for the woman with style' very little seems to be known about this French issue purfume. Apparently it all began at Pinewood Studios, London when 'Carlo Dini' met Joanna Lumley while she was filming The New Avengers. I'm amazed that no examples of this purfume have ever turned up on ebay or anywhere else for that matter. Was it even actually produced

I have never heard of that perfume !
Charley was supposed to be the name of The New Avengers girl but was changed because a perfume produced by Revlon has the same name.

This is very strange ! The 'Purdey Fragrance' has absolutely nothing to do with the 'Charlie purfume' by Revlon. I heard about the Purdey Fragrance back in 1983 but have never actually seen it anywhere in the 23 years since then ! I thought at least a bottle of it would have turned up on ebay, but no nothing ! I know it's genuine because I have an original shop counter display card with all the perfumes information on the reverse and a great picture of Joanna Lumley on the front - but that's the only thing i've ever seen, no magazine advert, no actual bottle, nothing I am starting to wonder if the fragrance was planned but never actually made it into the shops ! This is the only piece of merchandising I own and i've ever seen for the Purdey Fragrance, that makes it extremely rare I suppose

Ah ! This explains its mysterious absence !! - Unlike other rare merchandise which does turn up occasionally, this purfume simply cann't be found ANYWHERE !
