It's Le rideau déchiré, Joris ! (Maybe The torn curtain in English, I don't know ! )
His Highness loves playing with your nerves, Joris, he knows you'll go mad if he tells you he met Eva Green !

A light- hearted comedy, Family Plot ? You don't say ! Don't think so, even if it's not the most violent film Hitchcock made. Your Highness, you're pulling my leg !

Re: Harry "Aitch" Fielder
Sorry to disappoint you, Miss Evelyne, even Hitch admitted ' Family Plot ' WAS indeed a Comedy ( read Truffaut's excellent interview book ) .
As it is set in the mid 70s , it is bound to have the visual style of the times, hence what you may call ' graphic violence ' , but it's played for..Laughs !!!
Just screen the scene where Blanche ( the fake Clairvoyant ) tries to impress her client with mumbo-jumbo ...

Re: Harry "Aitch" Fielder
Hiya gang....
Now this job was fun to do.......Mr. Nice Guy.......NOT.... A guy called Rich found some smudges from this show late 80s... THE FEAR… I have to go for an audition at a production office in Holloway Road North London. (It was close enough for me to walk from the shop) They told me they were looking for a hit man for one days work the next day. By the time I got back to the shop they had phoned to tell me I had the job and to be at a location at eight in the morning. (Dress smart crook) I used the same suit I wore on the Norman Wisdom show back in the 70s. (We don’t throw clothes away in the film game we hope they will come back into fashion, I’ve still got that suit somewhere and it’s now 2003.) Anyway I get the plot off of the director and I’m ready to do it. "ACTION" shouts the 1st A.D. and I knock on the house door. A small boy opens the door and I brush him aside and storm through the house.. We didn’t rehearse with the boy as we didn’t want to upset him. (One take) As I go through the house looking for the victim the small boy is taken out of the house and sits on the crew bus with his real mother. (He thought I was the rent man) I see the intended victim through the kitchen window sitting in the garden and I pull my gun (which I put in a big brown paper bag) from under my jacket and race to the garden.. "CUT" Now the victim is moved from the spot where I saw him to the safety of the house. A piece of card is set where he was and I’m going to shoot at that. (You never fire a gun, even a blank gun directly at a person) We’re ready again and it’s "ACTION" I fire twice while the gun is still in the bag and bits of paper fly off the bag. (This was my idea) I turn to go and a woman starts screaming at me (We didn’t rehearse this bit) and she scares the life out of me.. I have to give her a hefty push out of my way and I’m gone. Now here’s a funny thing. It seems I shot the wrong man again. Where’s the nearest Specsavers??? https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v422/harryfielder/actors/TheFear-Episode50_thumb.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v422/harryfielder/actors/TheFear-Episode51_thumb.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v422/harryfielder/actors/TheFear-Episode52_thumb.jpg (cop the dark barnet) Hair.. Re: Harry "Aitch" Fielder
Your Highness, it's LADY Evelyne, not Miss... And I think that I do have the right to think it's not a light- hearted comedy despite Hitchcock's point of view. When I saw it first, this is what I thought.
Sorry for Hitch...

Re: Harry "Aitch" Fielder
Well, Your Majesty, correct me if i'm wrong but - usually speaking - when the director himself of the movie defines it as a Comedy Noir ( yep, Hitch uses frenglish...) , it's difficult then to see it as a violent thriller...
I think it even appears on the Catch-phrase of the english-language film poster...( not sure ,thought )

As I said it's my own way of thinking... That's what I felt after seeing the film... Of course, Hitch is the one with the truth. But, tell me, may I think ?...

Tell me, Aitch, what are the titles of the Space 1999 episodes you took part in ?
I'm a real fan and I'd love to know.
Any stories ? About Space 1999, I mean !

Re: Harry "Aitch" Fielder
I saw in your IMdb profile that you were also present in the wonderful thirller Entrapment. Did you get a chance to work with Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones ?

Re: Harry "Aitch" Fielder
I did get to work with Sean a few times over the years but only once with the lovely Katherine...
ENTRAPMENT…Director…Jon Amiel…
Cast Inc…Sean Connery…Catherine Zeta Jones…
Filming at The Borough Market South London for a week. (A very hot week)
Dressed up in winter clothes as a stall holder on the hottest days of the year..
Fake snow all around us and me wearing gloves, a body warmer and scarf.
This is the last film I worked on. (Bless)

Sorry Evelyne ...
Contrary to dear old Aitch - whose movies memories are quite extraordinary - I'm " still in the business" myself , so you'd better get used to my own memories .
I'm not " playing with your nevers " when I just wrote I met someone somewhere ...It's just my job...And when the topic arises on such or such actor, I cannot help quoting my own rememberance ...
